2001 FJ45cc After Stage Three Restoration

|

FJ45 Specs

Stage Three 2001 FJ45CC GREEN "TACORUISER"
This body style was never before offered in the USA. It was available for about six months if you lived in Brazil in 2001. We have access to the Toyota parts for the Brazilian Bandeirante (their Land Cruiser since 1958) and use them to enhance our restorations and designs, including this Cruiser. This truck was commissioned by NUMMI (the makers of the Tacoma) and Toyota Motor Sales as one of three in a series of designs looking at the next generation Land Cruiser in 2006. For this one, we started by removing the body from a 2001 Tacoma Xtra cab. We then stretched the frame, repositioned the drivetrain and fuel system, and modified the wiring harness so that we could fit the Cruiser style body. The body started out as a stock 2001 Toyota Bandeirante that we FEDEX'ed from Brazil to TLC. We removed the body assembly, modified it an fit it to the Tacoma chassis. The interior features sueded nubuck Buffalo Hide and Wilton wool carpet. The stock 2001 Tacoma drive train has been enhanced with the TRD Super Charger and stainless headers. After Toyota and NUMMI finished the design study, this design was discarded in favor of another we did. TLC now has this truck on display in our showroom.

1965 FJ45w After Stage Three Restoration

|
FJ45 Specs

Stage Three 1965 FJ45W.
THIS 45 WAGON WAS THE FIRST TO GET VORTEC. WE HAVE DONE A FEW SINCE WITH RAM JET OR VORTEC. THE 45 WAGONS REALLY APPRECIATE THE PERFORMANCE UPGRADE. THE STOCK DRIVE TRAINS WERE NOT BUILT FOR THE SORT OF DRIVING MOST PEOPLE DO TODAY. WE CAME UP WITH NEW COLORS FOR THIS ONE AND THEN LIKED THE MOSSY GREEN PAINT COLOR SO MUCH THAT WE CARRIED IT INTO THE INTERIOR. WE MATCHED IT WITH CUSTOM VAT DYED TOP GRAIN LEATHER AND NEW OLD STOCK CHRYSLER TEXTILE. WE DID OUR CENTER CONSOLE FOR AUDIO AND FULL VDO GAUGES, CUSTOM CABIN LIGHTS, HELLA HEADLIGHTS AND HORNS, WOOL CARPETS, OLD MAN EMU, 5.7 VORTEC, 4L60E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND MORE. THIS CRUISER NOW LIVES IN THE BAY AREA.

1965 FJ45cc Before & After Stage Three Restoration

|
FJ45 Specs

Stage Three 1965 FJ45W.
THIS 1965 FJ45 WAGON IS THE FIRST ONE WE EVER DID. THE 45 WAGONS ARE MORE DIFFICULT TO RESTORE THAN ANY OTHER MODEL. THEY WERE BUILT BY A DIFFERENT COMPANY THAN THE USUAL BODY SUPPLIER. THE BODY IS ALL HAND BUILT. WHEN BARE METAL, YOU SEE WELD AND LEAD LINES ALL OVER THE VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY ON THE ROOF. SO THE BODIES ARE HARD TO WORK WITH AND THERE USED TO BE NO WEATHER STRIPPING AVAILABLE. FORTUNATELY TOYOTA NEEDED THE RUBBER PARTS FOR A CONCEPT 45 WE HELPED ON AND HELPED PAY FOR THE TOOLING AND RESEARCH. WE NOW HAVE ALL THE RUBBER WE NEED AND HAVE BEEN RESTORING THEM EVER SINCE.
THIS ONE FEATURES A 383 V8 WITH A MARLIN 4 SPEED SOLID CASE TRANNY/TRANSFER. WE ADDED P/S, HELLA HEADLIGHTS AND HORNS, IN DASH HEAT AND A/C, OLD MAN EMU, SOUND DEADENING AND MORE. IT LIVED IN OREOGON FOR A FEW YEARS AND THEN MOVED DOWN TO SANTA MONICA SO WE GET TO SEE IT NOW AND AGAIN.

FJ45 Specs

Stage Three 1963 FJ45 Short Bed Pickup Fixed Cab.
THIS 63/45 WAS FOUND IN THE NORTHWEST BY A FRIEND IN GRANTS PASS. DESPITE ITS APPEARANCE IT HAD A GREAT BODY UNDER SIX COATS OF HOUSE PAINTAND WAS EASY TO RESTORE, RELATIVE TO THE 65/40 WE HAD JUST FINISHED. WE RESTORED THIS FIXED CAB SHORT BED FOR A CUSTOMER IN TEXAS. THE IDEA WAS TO DO A RESTORATION WITH THE OLD STYLE BUT HOT ROD PERFORMANCE AND A FEW CONTEMPORARY STREET ROD TOUCHES. WE DID A 5.3 VORTEC TO A 4L60E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION TO A TOYOTA 19 SPLINE SPLIT CASE TRANSFER CASE. P/S, A/C, FOUR WHEEL DISC BRAKES, OLD MAN EMU, TILT COLUMN, BANJO STEERING WHEEL, FLOOR MATS, LINE-X, IPF'S, EXTINGUISHER, OPTIMA, SECRET AUDIO AND BRUSH GUARD ARE A FEW OF THE DESIGNS USED. THIS TRUCK IS NOW SURPRISING 2002 CORVETTES IN TEXAS AND HAD EARNED ONE SPEEDING TICKET SO FAR LAST TIME WE HEARD.

Stage Three 1965 FJ45 LONG BED REMOVEABLE TOP PICK UP
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PICK UPS WE HAVE DONE (ALL IT NEEDED WAS A RAM JET...). IT ORIGINALLY WAS OWNED BY A MEXICAN GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL WHO ORDERED IT FROM THE DEALER AS A SHORTENED LONG BED BECAUSE HE LIKED THE DESIGN OF THE LONG BED BETTER THAN THE SHORT BED. WE RESTORED IT WITH A HIGH PERFORMANCE 2F, P/S, A/C, OLD MAN EMU, HELLA HEADLIGHTS AND HORNS, IPF'S, CUSTOM BED AND CAB SOFT TOP, AUDIO SYSTEM AND MORE. THIS TRUCK NOW LIVES IN THE MARTHAS VINYARD.
